These gouache paintings are part of a long-term investigation into colour, repetition and visual memory. Working from observations made in sketchbooks and an extensive archive of collected images, I develop small compositions where natural forms gradually transform into ornamental structures.
Postcards, sketchbook spreads and painted studies function as experiments rather than finished illustrations: a place to test relationships between colour, rhythm and pattern.
